Books

I’m in the middle of a  little personal metamorphisis. In a lot of ways, I’m coming into a new sense of being, and getting back into a few things that I cast aside in favor of other things. One of the things that I am pushing back into is reading. I read constantly when I was in middle school and during the early years of high school. But then I fell out of touch with my bookish spirit as the rocky emotional currents of adolescence pulled me toward various other social and creative outlets. But the older I get the less solace I find in the things that brought me comfort and joy. So I’m getting back into my first passion and issuing myself a little challenge. It has been abbreviated because as much as I would love to take on 100 books a year, I can recognize that my other interests and passions deserve some of my time too.

I compiled a reading list for the year based off os some friend’s recommendations, classics, bestsellers, favorite authors, and previous reads that I want to revisit since my mindset has changed since the time of my first reading. I’m not going to read the books in any particular order and I may occassionally swap one or two out for something different if I can’t seem to get into it.  Feel free to join me and tell me your thoughts on one of the books, or recommend some others 🙂
